Minneopa State ParkMinneopa State Park
Fall in love with the scenic Minneopa State Park’s campground. With paths looping around the famous Minneopa Falls waterfall and Seppman’s abandoned windmill, this picturesque park is a perfect destination for hiking enthusiasts. The park’s newest residents, a herd of bison descending from those that Lewis and Clark encountered in the 1830s, are not fans of the mid-day heat, so stop by in the morning or late afternoon to see them when they are most active. The Sakatah Trail Campground, approximately 20 minutes from Mankato, offers seclusion with convenience for RV campers. This site is located right outside of Madison Lake, giving anglers plenty of fishing options. As the name suggests, this campground is stationed on the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail, which spans 39 miles of paved trail from Mankato to Faribault, making this a great site for cyclists, hikers and nature enthusiasts!
